Countertop Concepts, LLC. will warranty your granite countertop for any manufacturing defect during the first 5 years after initial installation, except for damage due to chemical or physical misuse, limited to indoor residential installations only.
Countertop Concept's liability is limited to the repair or replacement of the defective granite piece only, subject to the availability of the granite color. If the color is no longer available, liability is limited to the cash value of the installed piece based on current square foot prices if we determine that a satisfactory repair cannot be made.
Warranty is valid for granite countertops cared for in accordance with Care & Cleaning Brochure provided and to the owners that have registered their countertop by returning this document within 30 days of granite installation.
This does not include natural characteristics of granite such as color variation, water lines, surface marks, fissures, pin holes, resin imperfections such as haze or dimples, or natural aging. Nor does it cover damage caused by items out of our control such as settlement, fire or acts of nature.
Wipe off debris with a dry paper towel. After large debris has been removed wipe down entire countertop with either a 1.) Natural stone, anti-bacterial safe wipe (Clorox Kitchen Wipes) (or) 2.) Mild dish soap and a clean damp towel. Once you have wiped it down dry it with a soft cloth. Make sure not to wipe to big of an area where it has dried before you have had the chance to dry off the countertop yourself. Be careful not to use to much dish soap because it could cause a white haze giving your granite a dull looking surface. If a spill does occur you will want to clean it up immediately. Do not wipe it to where you will spread it around, but pat it up, avoiding spreading the spill. There are several granite cleaners and polishers in today's market place. I recommend that you discuss with the fabricator that installed your countertop on what they recommend using.
Note: Hard dried up substances such as food, drinks, and even hard water can be scraped off of stone with a razor blade.
Although Countertop Concepts uses a 15 year sealer we still highly recommend sealing your countertops once a year. Countertops should be re-sealed to guard against staining, create easier wipe-up, strengthen countertops and preserve their natural beauty and luster. The average time to seal your countertops is 30 to 60 minutes, way less than waxing a car, but much of the same results. Again there are several different sealers in today's market, feel free to call and ask us what we recommend. Countertop Concepts will also seal your granite for you. Don't hesitate to ask and have it done professionally.
Depending upon the size of the countertop and the size of the slab, it may require a seam. The placement of the seam is at the discretion of the fabricator.
Granite countertops rarely stain when they are properly sealed and maintained.
Our granite countertops are sealed before or during installation of the countertop. We recommend sealing your countertop once a year. This helps protect and keep the shine of your countertop looking fresh just like a waxed car. Average kitchen takes approximately a 1/2 hour.
Granite is a very dense material making it less likely to chip than other surfaces. However, dropping something heavy on it may result in chipping especially on the edge and sink edge. Chips also can be filled and repaired with epoxy resin which is normal practice for the industry.
Granite is very heat resistant and unlikely to burn or scorch. However, thermal shock may occur causing the countertop to crack. This could take place if there was an extreme temperature difference between the surface of your countertop and what you were placing on that surface. We still recommend that you use trivets or hot pads.
